Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has announced a two-month extension to its ongoing antidumping (AD) investigation into galvanized steel imports from China and South Korea.

The investigation, initially launched on June 14, 2024, will now conclude by August 14, 2025. The extension, according to the ministry, is necessary to allow for a more comprehensive and objective assessment of the case.

The probe follows the expiration of previous antidumping measures on galvanized steel from the two countries in May 2022.

The investigation targets galvanized steel products falling under a wide range of Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers, including but not limited to:

7210.41.11, 7210.49.11, 7210.50.00, 7212.30.11, 7212.50.13, 7225.92.90, and 7226.99.91.

A full list of the affected tariff codes has been provided by MOIT, highlighting the broad scope of products under review.

The move reflects Vietnam’s continued efforts to protect domestic producers from alleged unfair trade practices while maintaining compliance with WTO regulations.
