Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has announced an extension of its anti-dumping investigation into certain coated steel products imported from China and South Korea. The probe, initiated in June 2024, aims to determine whether these imports are being dumped into the Vietnamese market, causing harm to domestic producers.

The investigation focuses on galvanized and color-coated steel products, which are widely used in construction and manufacturing sectors. Preliminary findings indicated significant dumping margins, leading to the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duties ranging from 15.67% to 37.13% in April 2025.

By extending the investigation period, MOIT seeks to gather more comprehensive data and ensure a thorough assessment before making a final determination. The outcome will have significant implications for both domestic steel producers and foreign exporters.
