The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has finalized its decision to maintain antidumping (AD) duties on imports of steel threaded rod from China, following a sunset review of the trade measure.
In its final determination, the DOC concluded that revoking the AD order would likely result in the continuation or recurrence of dumping, citing weighted-average dumping margins of up to 206%.
The duties apply to certain steel threaded rods classified under subheadings 7318.15.5050, 7318.15.5090, and 7318.15.2095 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS).
The move reaffirms the US’s trade enforcement stance against unfairly priced Chinese imports and is expected to maintain pressure on Chinese steel exporters while providing continued protection to US manufacturers.
