The UK government has approved new anti-dumping duties on tin mill product imports from China, following an investigation by the Trade Remedies Authority (TRA).

The measure took effect on March 13, 2026, after the TRA concluded that Chinese exporters were selling tin mill products in the UK at significantly lower prices than domestic market levels, harming the UK industry.

The final decision sets individual duties of 27.85% for Shougang Group and 49.98% for all other Chinese exporters.

The investigation covered the period April 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024, during which Chinese products were found to be sold 28–50% below comparable domestic prices.

UK authorities said the duties aim to protect the domestic tin mill sector from unfairly priced imports.
