JFE Shoji Steel Pipe & Tube Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Japanese steel producer JFE Steel Corporation, has announced the acquisition of Maruhachi Steel Pipe Co., Ltd., a prominent steel pipe manufacturer based in Urayasu and Sendai. Maruhachi Steel Pipe is known for having one of the largest steel pipe inventories in Japan and specializes in medium and large diameter steel pipes and tubes.
This acquisition will allow JFE Shoji Steel Pipe & Tube to expand its operations by enhancing its inventory, processing, and sales systems. The company plans to increase its presence in the construction and civil engineering sectors by collaborating with another subsidiary, Hoshi Kinzoku Co., Ltd. Together, they aim to focus on renewing deteriorated infrastructure, supporting national resilience projects for disaster prevention and mitigation, and meeting the growing demand for data center construction.
This strategic move is expected to strengthen JFE Steel's market position and meet the evolving needs of critical infrastructure projects in Japan.
