April 22, 2025 — Ukrainian steelmaker Zaporizhstal Iron and Steel Works, a subsidiary of Metinvest Holding, has launched a major UAH 49 million ($1.18 million) equipment overhaul in its hot rolling shop, aimed at improving operational efficiency and product quality.
The investment focuses on the overhaul of Heating Wells No. 14, part of a broader modernization initiative. According to the company, the upgrade will optimize energy consumption, ensure stable long-term operations, and maintain high production standards.
In the initial phase, the lining of the main structures of the heating wells was restored. The ongoing phase includes repairs to mechanical and power systems, upgrades to the automation system, and reinforcement of structural elements within the heating infrastructure.
Zaporizhstal stated that the project is part of its strategic commitment to modernizing production facilities amid challenging conditions and an evolving steel market.
