As of April 11, Turkey has exhausted its allocated EU steel import quotas for the second quarter, covering products such as rebar, wire rod, and hollow sections.
In response, the European Commission intends to implement stricter import regulations, including reducing the annual liberalization rate of tariff quotas and limiting the transfer of unused quotas from other countries.
These measures aim to protect the European steel industry by controlling the volume of steel imports and ensuring fair competition within the market.
