Investment and Funding

The project represents a total investment of $21.5 million, with 70% funded by Tenaris and the remaining 30% provided by the European Union through the Recovery and Sustainability Plan.

Strategic Importance

This solar park is part of Tenaris' broader strategy to decarbonize its production processes. Similar initiatives have been implemented in Italy and China, and the company is also developing wind farms in Argentina.

Mihaela Popescu, President of Tenaris in Eastern Europe, North Sea Region, and Southern Sahara, emphasized the project's role in reducing indirect emissions and supporting customers' decarbonization efforts.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Romanian government officials, including State Secretaries from the Ministries of Energy and Environment, the Mayor of Călărași, representatives from the energy regulator, the Italian Embassy, and key partners and customers.

This development underscores Tenaris' commitment to sustainable practices and its contribution to the green transformation of the steel industry.
