India and the UAE are negotiating a strategic partnership aimed at jointly producing green steel, blending India’s raw material strengths with the UAE’s renewable energy capacity. Through collaborative investment and technology exchange, both countries aim to tap into global demand for lower-emission steel.
The alliance would leverage India’s vast iron ore reserves and abundant labor force, while the UAE offers large-scale solar and hydrogen infrastructure. Targeted projects include electric arc furnaces and hydrogen-based steelmaking models, with initial frameworks due for review later this year.
