The European Union has approved funding for 94 transport infrastructure projects under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). These initiatives aim to strengthen Europe’s transport networks, with a strong focus on sustainability, connectivity, and resilience against future disruptions. Key investments will support rail upgrades, maritime connections, and cross-border logistics.
The projects are spread across member states, with priority given to those contributing to decarbonization, modal shift to rail, and improved multimodal transport systems. Many of these developments are expected to enhance freight mobility, boost supply chain efficiency, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the EU.
This significant investment reflects the EU’s commitment to fostering a greener and more unified transport infrastructure. With financial backing and clear sustainability goals, the CEF program will play a crucial role in supporting both economic growth and the European Green Deal objectives.
