Brazil's exports of niobium ferroalloys fell by nearly 23% in June, totaling 8,073 metric tons, down from 10,515 mt in May, according to official trade data from SECEX.

Asia Remains Top Destination, China Leads Volumes

The majority of June's exports were shipped to Asia (5,414 mt), with China receiving 3,096 mt at an average price of $26,240/mt. Other key destinations included:

  • Europe: 1,459 mt at $27,384/mt

  • United States: 988 mt at $25,913/mt

  • Mexico: 103 mt at $25,822/mt

  • Canada: 86 mt at $25,781/mt

  • South Africa: 20 mt at $25,670/mt

  • Chile: 3.0 mt at $34,615/mt

All exports were made on FOB (Free On Board) terms.

CBMM Continues to Dominate Supply

CBMM, the world’s leading niobium producer, accounted for the bulk of shipments, exporting 6,543 mt at an average price of $26,880/mt. CMOC followed with 1,280 mt at $24,773/mt, while an additional 250 mt at $24,796/mt originated from operations in Brazil’s Amazonas state.

Market Outlook

Despite Brazil's continued leadership in niobium supply, the month-on-month decline signals possible shifts in global demand or logistical adjustments by producers. Analysts will be watching July export figures for signs of recovery or ongoing contraction in the ferroalloy market.
