ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih Challenges Increased Tariff Distance by Ukrainian Railways
OdooBot

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine's largest mining and metals company, has raised concerns over a recent decision by Ukrainian Railways to increase the tariff distance for transporting its products by 257 km. This change significantly raises logistical costs and is perceived by the company as an unjustified, selective measure.

Operating under the strains of ongoing conflict, energy shortages, and complex export logistics, ArcelorMittal views this development as an abuse of monopoly power. The company intends to appeal to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine for a review of the decision.

In the face of these challenges, ArcelorMittal continues to invest in its operations. Notably, blast furnace No. 6 has been restarted, and a 15% salary increase for employees is set to take effect on May 1, 2025.
