South Korea Imposes Final Antidumping Duties on Vietnamese Cold Rolled Stainless Steel

South Korea’s Ministry of Economy and Finance has officially imposed final antidumping (AD) duties on cold rolled stainless steel imports from Vietnam, following the conclusion of its investigation into unfair trade practices.

The decision ends the provisional AD duties that were first applied in April, which served as a stopgap until the final measures could be implemented.

The ministry determined that Vietnamese exporters sold the products at dumped prices, causing material injury to South Korea’s domestic steel industry.

Under the final ruling, Yongjin Metal Technology Vietnam will face a duty of 18.81%, while other Vietnamese exporters will be subject to a 11.37% duty.

These duties will remain in effect for five years, starting from July 11, 2025.

The ruling underscores South Korea's commitment to protecting its domestic manufacturers from unfair trade practices and maintaining a level playing field in the steel industry.
