Russian steel giant Severstal has launched a new piling pipe production line at its Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant (CherMK) in Sheksna, Vologda region, marking a key investment in its infrastructure and industrial product capabilities.
The company invested RUB 1 billion (approximately $17.4 million) into the project, which is designed to produce up to 50,000 metric tons of pile pipes annually. The products are engineered to withstand harsh operating conditions, aligning with modern construction and energy sector demands.
Severstal CEO Alexander Shevelev stated that the launch is a strategic step in the company’s broader plan to expand its portfolio of high-tech steel products, particularly for construction, gas, and oil industry applications.
The new production line is expected to strengthen Severstal’s presence in both domestic and export markets, particularly in infrastructure and energy-related projects where durable, high-performance steel solutions are critical.
