Jindal Steel Chhattisgarh Limited (JSCL), a subsidiary of Jindal Steel Limited (JSL), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Chhattisgarh state government to invest $12.13 billion in major industrial projects aimed at boosting the region's economy.

The investment package includes:

  • A greenfield integrated steel mill with an annual production capacity of 7.5 million metric tons, which alone accounts for approximately $8.4 billion of the total investment.

  • The remaining funds will go toward building three thermal power plants, each with 800 MW capacity, and solar power plants totaling 500 MW.

Government officials stated that the projects are expected to create significant employment opportunities and promote sustainable industrial development across the eastern state.

This marks one of the largest private sector investments in Chhattisgarh, underscoring Jindal Steel’s long-term commitment to infrastructure and energy growth in India.
