The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) reported a notable increase in steel production among its member mills during the first ten days of June.

From June 1 to June 10, the average daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized Chinese steel enterprises reached 2.159 million metric tons, marking a 3.2% increase compared to the last ten days of May (May 21–31), when the output stood at 2.091 million metric tons.

The late-May figure itself had reflected a 4.9% drop compared to mid-May (May 11–20), highlighting a recent recovery in production.

Meanwhile, finished steel inventories at these enterprises also experienced growth. As of June 10, inventories totaled 15.79 million metric tons, up 3.2% from May 31.

The rise in both output and stockpiles suggests that while production is recovering, demand may not be keeping pace, potentially putting pressure on prices in the near term.
