ArcelorMittal has reaffirmed its commitment to decarbonizing its operations in France by confirming a €1.2 billion investment in its Dunkirk plant. The funds will be used to build the first electric arc furnace (EAF) at the site, aligning with the company's broader strategy to reduce carbon emissions.

This investment is part of a larger €2 billion plan to modernize ArcelorMittal's French facilities, including allocations for the Fos-sur-Mer facility and a new production line in Mardik. The initiative is supported by the French government and aligns with the EU's Steel and Metals Action Plan.

The decarbonization efforts are set to resume after the summer, reflecting ArcelorMittal's dedication to sustainable steel production and its collaboration with governmental bodies to achieve environmental goals.
