US exports of structural pipe and tube fell by 13.6 percent in March compared to February, according to the latest data from the US Department of Commerce. Total exports reached 6,340 metric tons (mt) for the month, marking a 37.2 percent decline year-on-year from March 2024.

In terms of value, exports totaled $11.1 million in March, down from $13.1 million in February and a sharp fall from $18.3 million in March 2024.

Mexico remained the largest export destination, receiving 3,367 mt in March, an increase from 2,537 mt in February but a drop from 5,154 mt in the same month last year. Canada followed with 2,691 mt. No other countries imported more than 1,000 mt of structural pipe and tube from the US during the month.

The decline underscores a broader contraction in US steel product exports, particularly in North American markets, as global demand and pricing dynamics continue to fluctuate.
