The government of Goa has launched a second attempt to auction 24 idle low-grade iron ore dumps after weak participation in earlier tenders.
According to officials, the new e-auction process includes previously listed sites that failed to attract bids.
Earlier, five dumps were offered, but only one reportedly received interest.
Dump Sizes Vary Widely
- Smaller dumps range from 100,000 mt to 2.6 million mt
- The largest site in Sattari contains around 10 million mt
Most of the ore dumps are located in southern Goa.
The move is part of efforts to unlock unused mineral resources and revive mining-linked economic activity in the state.
